Second hand dining room furniture: oak dining table with chairs ready for family meals.

Second Hand Dining Room Furniture for Tables That Get Used

A dining table is the most honest piece of furniture in the house. You can see exactly how it’s been treated the moment you run a hand across it. That’s why I inspect every table, chair set, sideboard and dresser in this collection before it’s listed. If a table top has had a hard life, it doesn’t get a second one here.

This is second hand dining room furniture from the brands that build for actual dinners: Barker and Stonehouse, Oak Furniture Land and other names worth having. Solid oak extending tables that seat four on a Tuesday and ten at Christmas. Chairs that don’t creak when guests lean back. Sideboards for the good glasses, dressers for everything else, and display cabinets for the china that only comes out when it matters.

A word of practical advice: measure before you fall in love. Allow about 60cm of table edge per diner and enough room to pull a chair properly back. If you’re unsure whether a table suits your room, message me the dimensions and I’ll tell you straight. I’ve seen enough dining rooms to know what fits and what fights.

The value is plain. Dining sets are among the most expensive things to buy new and among the steepest to depreciate, which makes them the smartest thing on this entire site to buy second hand. Up to 90% off, with the hard-wearing years still ahead of it.

Every set is one of one. A £30 deposit holds it, click and collect from Houghton-le-Spring is free, I deliver across the North East myself, and couriers cover the UK. Hunting a specific maker, an Ercol perhaps, or a particular extending design? Register it with Sorcit, my free sourcing service, and I’ll find it and email you when it arrives.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. First off I don't do reviews, good or bad!! But on this occasion the service was so exceptional that I feel grateful to have stumbled across this small company based in Houghton le Spring in the Nort East and run by Simon. This guy is so fair and helpful, and goes "above and beyond" to make sure his customers are satisfied with their purchase. We bought 2 secondhand wardrobes from DecorDeluxe.club which were exactly as described and arrived in perfect condition, exceptionally clean and almost as new. We live in the North West some 160 miles away but even with the additional carriage costs it was a better deal than we could get locally. It was a pleasure to deal with this company. If you're looking for seconhand, make this your first port of call.
Thank you Simon.
