Second Hand Home Office Furniture for People Who Actually Work at Home |
Here’s what nobody tells you about working from home: the kitchen table gives up on you by about month three. Your back knows it before you do. A proper desk, a proper chair and somewhere to put the paperwork aren’t luxuries, they’re the difference between a job and a backache.
The trouble is that decent office furniture costs serious money new, and the flatpack alternative flexes every time you lean on it. Second hand solves both problems at once. This collection holds solid wood desks, office chairs, bookcases, filing and storage pieces, and cabinets that keep a workspace looking like a room rather than a stationery cupboard. The best of it comes from the same premium brands as the rest of my stock, built from oak and solid wood that takes years of eight-hour days without complaint.
Every piece is personally inspected before listing. Drawers that run, doors that close, surfaces honest enough to photograph up close. And because it’s second hand, you’re paying a fraction of new: often the price of one new “executive” desk buys the desk, the storage and the bookcase here.
Fair warning on stock: desks and office chairs sell almost as fast as they arrive, because everyone had the same lockdown revelation at once. If the collection looks thin on the exact piece you need, register it with Sorcit, my free sourcing service. I actively go and find what’s on the list, and you’ll get an email the moment your piece lands. It is, genuinely, the least effort way to furnish an office.
A £30 deposit secures any piece. Free click and collect from Houghton-le-Spring, local North East delivery by me, couriers UK wide. Your back will thank you. Your accountant might too.
