One useful top drawer, paired with an open shelf underneath. That combination turns up on bedside drawers all the time, but not many get it as right as this pair. The proportion is spot on, the oak finish is warm rather than orange, and the framed drawer front with its softly rounded corners lifts the whole thing from functional to actually good looking. Oak Furnitureland's Wiltshire range has been discontinued now, which means if you have been piecing together a bedroom set or just need two matching bedside units from a proper brand, finding a pair like this is no longer something you can order off a website. I'm Simon, and I spend a good chunk of each week tracking down exactly this kind of thing, one-off pairs from ranges that are no longer in production. These two made the cut the moment I saw them.
The Wiltshire range was built around traditional country styling, and these bedside drawers hold to that without veering into twee. Each unit has a single drawer at the top, with that framed front giving it a bit of depth and interest, and an open shelf below for books, a lamp base, or whatever needs to live within arm's reach of the bed. The drawer pulls are small dark square knobs, understated and in keeping with the rest of the design. The top and edges are gently rounded, and there is a softly arched rail below the shelf that adds a touch of detail without fuss. The legs are sturdy blocks, the kind that sit flat and do not wobble.
The finish is a light to medium natural oak that lets the grain come through properly. Solid oak throughout. The drawer construction is traditional dovetail jointing, which keeps them square and solid over time, and the backs and drawer bases are tongue and groove panelling rather than the hardboard you get in cheaper units. Those are the details that separate furniture built to last from furniture built to shift.
The condition is pre-loved and in great condition, with a few honest imperfections. There is some very light rubbing to the varnish on the top of the drawers. It is quite subtle and not particularly noticeable in everyday use, as you can see from the photos. For complete transparency, I like to make potential customers aware of any imperfections I notice, no matter how minor.

My pre-loved price is £165 for the pair. That is two solid oak bedside units, from a range you can no longer buy new, for less than many retailers charge for one flat-pack equivalent. And because the Wiltshire range is discontinued, the value here is not just about the price. If you already own pieces from this range, or you have been searching for matching bedside drawers and coming up short, this is your chance to complete the set.
