The Wiltshire bed frame caught my eye: solid oak throughout, gently rounded edges on the headboard and footboard rails, and those square legs that anchor the whole piece to the floor with certainty. Oak Furnitureland does traditional country-inspired furniture properly, and the Wiltshire range is proof. I'm Simon, and when something built like this turns up, it earns its place on the site without question.
The range has been discontinued now, which means anyone already living with a Wiltshire wardrobe or chest of drawers has just found the matching bed they thought they'd missed. And if you're starting from scratch, you've found the anchor for a classic solid-oak bedroom scheme before these become harder to find.
This is a king-size frame, built the way Oak Furnitureland built its reputation. Solid oak, not veneer. Traditional dovetail joints holding the structure true. A framed headboard with subtle moulding that gives character without shouting about it. The footboard sits low, keeping the room feeling open rather than boxed in. The finish is a warm natural oak tone that shows off the grain and the texture of the timber, exactly as it should.
Those chunky proportions matter. This is a bed frame with presence, not one that apologises for being in the room. The rounded edges soften the look without losing the weight. The side rails connect solidly to wooden slats that do the job they're meant to: hold the mattress flat and stable, night after night.
The condition is PreLoved with a bit of character, minor signs of wear, still in great nick. This is a frame that has done its job and will keep doing it. No wobble, no nonsense, no shortcuts in the build.
My PreLoved price is £275.
