Second hand mango wood cabinet showing the wood's characteristic swirling grain.

Mango Wood Furniture, Second Hand and Full of Character

Mango wood is the one that surprises people. Yes, the same tree as the fruit. Mango trees stop producing after a couple of decades, and instead of burning them, somebody clever worked out the timber is dense, strong and full of swirling character. So the orchard gets replanted, the wood gets a second career, and you get furniture with a conscience built in. Sustainable isn’t a buzzword here. It’s literally the business model of the tree.

The premium brands cottoned on years ago, which is why mango wood now anchors some of their best-looking ranges: chunky sideboards, industrial-style chests with steel handles, dining tables with grain that looks hand-drawn. It’s a hard wood, comparable to oak in density, and it takes knocks the way hard woods do. Quietly.

Buying it second hand doubles the logic. A sustainable wood on its second owner is about as guilt-free as furniture gets, and the prices here run a fraction of what those ranges cost new. Each of my mango pieces is personally inspected, photographed honestly and listed one of one.

Care is simple, whatever you may have read: keep it out of direct radiator blast, wipe with a barely damp cloth, oil it once or twice a year if you want the grain to glow. That’s it. This is low-maintenance wood pretending to be exotic.

It’s a boutique collection, and the good ones go fast. If you’re after a specific mango piece, a sideboard, a media unit, a set of drawers, register it with Sorcit, my free sourcing service, and I’ll email you the moment one arrives. A £30 deposit secures anything. Free click and collect from Houghton-le-Spring, North East delivery by me, couriers UK wide.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. First off I don't do reviews, good or bad!! But on this occasion the service was so exceptional that I feel grateful to have stumbled across this small company based in Houghton le Spring in the Nort East and run by Simon. This guy is so fair and helpful, and goes "above and beyond" to make sure his customers are satisfied with their purchase. We bought 2 secondhand wardrobes from DecorDeluxe.club which were exactly as described and arrived in perfect condition, exceptionally clean and almost as new. We live in the North West some 160 miles away but even with the additional carriage costs it was a better deal than we could get locally. It was a pleasure to deal with this company. If you're looking for seconhand, make this your first port of call.
Thank you Simon.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Trustindex. Excellent Company to deal with
I found the quality oak bed frame which I required, at a price which represented excellent value.
My enquiry received an immediate response from Simon.
I arranged to view & collect the bed on a Saturday morning.
Simon was there to meet me on arrival, having given me excellent directions, and communicating with me on the morning of collection.
Having viewed the bed frame, he assisted with loading into my estate car.
During disassembly at his warehouse, a few plastic items had become damaged, but new replacements were supplied.
Having assembled the bed frame, I’m delighted with the quality, condition, & exceptional value.
The whole purchase experience was perfect from initial enquiry to collection, with attention to detail, rarely found these days.
I would thoroughly recommend this company & expect to purchase further items in future.
