Let’s talk about the little things that make a bedroom sing — like a proper bedside drawer that doesn’t cost a month’s food bill. This solid mango wood beauty comes from Barker & Stonehouse, a name that doesn’t mess about when it comes to craftsmanship. It’s not some flat-pack flatliner — this piece has weight, grain, and a warmth that only real wood can pull off. And yes, it’s pre-owned — lived in, leaned on, maybe even used as an impromptu step to reach the top shelf — but still in great condition, with character to burn.
Measuring in at Height: 48.5 cm (19.1 in) x Width: 52 cm (20.5 in) x Depth: 40 cm (15.7 in), it’s compact enough to slip beside even the coziest bed, yet sturdy enough to handle bedtime reads, alarm clocks, and that inevitable pile of “I’ll deal with this tomorrow” bits and bobs. The mango wood has mellowed beautifully — a little patina here, a whisper of wear there — but nothing that distracts from its charm. This has a huge amount of character. And for anyone wondering, there’s a matching large chest of drawers and dressing table up for grabs too — sold separately, obviously, because we believe in choice.
Oh, and don’t limit it to the bedroom. Toss a lamp on top, stash your coasters and candles inside, and voilà — it’s a living room side table with more soul than most. Works just as well in a dining nook or even a hallway. Furniture that’s lived a little? Absolutely. But that just means it knows how to behave in a real home.
Our pre-owned price is £75 — yes, really. That’s a fraction of the original £225 RRP, and frankly, a steal for a piece with this kind of pedigree. You don’t need to sleep on it — though it would look rather lovely beside your bed. A £30 deposit secures it. The rest? Paid when it lands in your home. There’s savvy — and then there’s already-clicked ‘Add to Basket’ savvy. And remember, only one of these exists. Once it’s gone, it’s gone — just like that last biscuit at a family gathering.
