That shaped plinth is what people walk past in showrooms without noticing, and it tells you everything about who made this. French Farmhouse from Oak FurnitureLand: solid oak construction, Louis Philippe proportions done with a lighter modern hand, and details like flared cornices and antiqued brass drop handles that lift the piece out of flat-pack territory before you open a single drawer. I'm Simon, and when a storage cupboard this honest turns up at a fraction of its original price, it earns its place on the site. Now it's here.
This is a one-door, three-drawer layout built to last. The cupboard runs the full height on the left, split-level shelving inside giving you two tiers for whatever needs tucking away: Hi-Fi, CDs, DVDs, the entire loose-cable situation that modern living rooms attract. Two cable exit holes routed through the back keep everything tidy without the spaghetti. The three drawers stack to the right, each one deep enough to be useful rather than decorative, all built with traditional dovetail joints and tongue and groove bases. Those construction methods matter because they keep drawers square and shelves true long after cheaper units have sagged and wobbled out of alignment.
The finish is medium oak, natural grain left visible, no stain clouding the warmth. Brass-toned drop handles on every drawer and a matching latch on the door, all with an antiqued patina that suits the French Farmhouse aesthetic without tipping into costume. The cornice has that subtle flare, the corners are softly rounded, and the plinth gives the whole piece a lift that changes how it sits in a room. Living room, dining room as a small sideboard, hallway if you have the width for it. Anywhere that needs order and a bit of presence.
Oak FurnitureLand sold this new for £649.99. My pre-loved price is £225. That is £424.99 in your pocket, a 65% saving on a piece of furniture built from solid oak with joinery that will last. The condition is pre-loved and looking fabulous, in genuinely great condition.
