Most bookcases turn up flat. You lift them and know. This one lands heavy, planted, certain. Part solid oak, part veneered, and the split makes sense. Weight where it counts, sense where it shows. I'm Simon, running DecorDeluxe.club out of Houghton-le-Spring, and I see plenty that tries to look like oak but buckles under a shelf of paperbacks. This one takes the load and asks for more.
The colour is medium oak, all the way through. No stain fighting the grain, no tone shift panel to panel. Just the wood doing what oak does: warmth, character, depth. The grain reads clearly under that finish, and the consistency tells you somebody measured twice. Rounded edges along the top, slightly tapered legs at the base. Details that cost nothing to skip, everything to include. Traditional dovetail joints hold the frame square, the kind that stay tight long after flat-pack brackets have given up.
Three shelves, fixed in place, so the spacing suits what most people own. Books, boxes, plants that need the light, ornaments that deserve the room. The depth is 30 cm, generous enough that hardbacks sit front-to-back without tipping, and the shelves do not sag because the build will not let them. Clean lines, straightforward form, the sort of piece that works in a hallway, a living room, a bedroom, wherever storage has become the problem and clutter the symptom.
My second hand price is £95. Furniture with dovetails and this much oak in the mix costs several times that bought new from the retailers doing this standard of work. That is £95 for storage that will not wobble, warp or let you down, and the saving is the entire point of it.
