This tallboy turned up and ticked every box: solid oak throughout, traditional dovetail joints holding the drawers square, and tongue and groove panelling to the back and the base of each drawer. Those details are not there for show. They are there because Barker and Stonehouse builds to a standard that lasts decades, not seasons.
The finish is a light to medium oak tone that lets the grain do the talking. Warm, honest, no need for fuss. The cornice at the top and the arched cut-out detail at the base give it just enough character without tipping into ornament. Round metal knobs on each drawer. Clean lines, classic proportions, and the kind of build quality that improves a room just by standing in it.
Five drawers stacked tall means storage for everything: folded jumpers, jeans, shirts, the lot. The sort of piece that turns a bedroom from chaos into calm, and does it without taking over half the floor. The drawers run smooth and true. Dovetails hold. Tongue and groove panels do not rattle.
