Most sideboards turn up with straight lines and safe proportions. Then one like this surfaces, and you pay attention. Pointed arch carvings on every door, decorative carved panels down the sides, dark metal handles, and a stepped base that grounds the whole piece like a church threshold. I'm Simon, and I find furniture that earns its place rather than fills a gap, and this one made the cut the moment I saw those Gothic arches doing their work. It is here now, and it will not hang around.
This is reclaimed pine with an almost architectural presence. The pointed arches are not applied decoration, they are carved panels that give each door the look of classic Gothic windows. The same detailing runs down the side panels, and the dark metalwork sits against the light timber like ironmongery on chapel doors. The stepped base is solid and deliberate, not an afterthought. This is furniture with personality, and it knows it.
Three drawers run across the top, three cupboard doors below. Open any door and you'll find a single shelf inside, adjustable and ready to take whatever you need it to. The drawers are built with traditional dovetail joints, so they will stay square for decades, and tongue and groove panelling lines the back and the base of each drawer. Those are the details that separate furniture built to last from furniture built to shift.
Reclaimed pine means every section of timber tells its own story. The grain varies, knots appear where they please, old marks and natural imperfections sit alongside each other, and no two boards match exactly. That is the point of reclaimed furniture. It celebrates the history and individuality of the wood rather than sanding it into uniformity. This piece has been lived with, worked with, and weathered before it was ever built into a sideboard, and that aged character is exactly what gives it its presence.
There are just two minor marks worth pointing out for transparency: a tiny mark to the top of the right-hand door and another small mark to the top of the sideboard, both visible in the photographs. The condition is pre-owned with a bit of character, minor signs of wear, still in great nick. But this is reclaimed timber, so these little variations sit beautifully alongside the natural knots, markings and imperfections already found throughout the piece. They simply become part of its character.

My pre-owned price is £225. For a sideboard this distinctive, built this well, from reclaimed timber with carved Gothic detailing and metalwork that feels like it came from a period building, that figure is absurd. £225 for furniture with this much craft and this much presence.

This sideboard exists once. £30 secures it. Once it is gone, it is gone. At this price, with this much character, it is unlikely to wait.
