Barker and Stonehouse Newcastle, Without Paying Newcastle-New Prices
Newcastle knows its furniture. This is a city where a Jesmond sitting room or a Heaton terrace gets furnished with actual intent, and when the intent is serious, the name that keeps coming up is Barker and Stonehouse, whether at their branch in Fenwick on Northumberland Street or the flagship over the river in Dunston. Quite right. The build is proper. It is only the brand-new bill that needs talking out of.
Talk it down to this. DecorDeluxe.club sells inspected second-hand Barker and Stonehouse furniture from Houghton-le-Spring, about half an hour from Newcastle city centre, at up to 90% below the original retail price. Personally checked, honestly photographed, delivered across Newcastle and the coast. One of each. When it's gone, it's gone.
Cross the Tyne for the Showroom. Or Don't.
The pilgrimage over the river to the showroom is a lovely afternoon. Coffee, mood boards, that new-furniture smell they should honestly bottle. And then the ticket price, which has never once improved anyone's afternoon.
The pieces here are the same maker with one owner behind them: wardrobes, bedside tables, dining sets and sideboards, each one inspected before it gets anywhere near the website. Marks declared. Dimensions exact. Photographs honest, because your stairwell does not forgive optimism. The live second-hand Barker and Stonehouse collection is on the site now. The brand's whole promise is that the furniture lasts. Second-hand is simply that promise, kept, at a tenth of the cost.
How It Works
No bridge to cross for this bit. Browse the collection: click the Shop link in the navigation at the top of this page, or click the button at the bottom of the page that says 'View Our Furniture'. Fancy a proper look first? Arrange a viewing appointment. Decided already? Add it to your basket and head for the checkout.
The checkout does the rest in one go: free Click and Collect from the base at Houghton-le-Spring, or doorstep delivery, picking the date and time slot that suits you from the options right there. Then the part Fenwick will never offer you: a £30 deposit today, and nothing else, while the balance waits until the piece is properly in your hands. Most retailers want your card in full before the van has even started. Not here. One thing to know, and I mean it kindly: viewings and collections are strictly by pre-arranged appointment. No walk-ins. And here's why. This is a one-man operation. I'm the one inspecting the stock, driving the van, answering the phone, all of it. Turn up unannounced and there's a fair chance I'm forty miles away delivering someone else's sideboard. Book ahead, and I'm here, waiting, ready for you.
