Second Hand Furniture in Middlesbrough, Built to Teesside Standards
This is the place that built bridges for the world. The Transporter has watched over the Tees since 1911, Dorman Long steel went off to hold up Sydney Harbour, and Stockton ran the first passenger railway anywhere on earth. Teesside knows exactly what built-to-last means. Which makes paying full retail for flat-pack all the stranger.
Here is the alternative. DecorDeluxe.club sells inspected second-hand designer furniture, Barker and Stonehouse, Oak Furniture Land and other proper makers, delivered to Middlesbrough and Stockton-on-Tees from its base in Houghton-le-Spring, about forty minutes up the A19. Every piece is personally checked, priced at up to 90% below original retail, and one of a kind. When it's gone, it's gone.
The Used Furniture Instinct Is Already Here
Middlesbrough never lost the knack. Stockton High Street still runs one of the biggest traditional markets in the country, the "Queen of the North", a hundred-plus stalls of people who understand that value and second-hand have always been friends. Baker Street and Bedford Street built an independent quarter on the same idea.
I do the furniture version. The difference between my stock and a house-clearance gamble is the checking: drawers glide, hinges hold, every mark declared and photographed before you commit. You browse dining tables, chests of drawers, wardrobes and sideboards from your sofa in Linthorpe or Acklam, and the piece arrives inspected. Used furniture, minus the used-furniture roulette.
How It Works
None of that requires an engineer, thankfully. Browse the collection: click the Shop link in the navigation at the top of this page, or click the button at the bottom of the page that says 'View Our Furniture'. Want a proper look before deciding? Arrange a viewing appointment. Sorted on what you want? Add it to your basket and head for the checkout.
The checkout handles the rest in one pass: free Click and Collect from the base at Houghton-le-Spring, or doorstep delivery to Middlesbrough or Stockton, with a date and time slot chosen from the options right there. Then the part that would raise eyebrows on Stockton High Street: a £30 deposit today, and that's your lot until the piece is actually in your hands. The balance is settled on collection or delivery. Most furniture companies want full payment before a van so much as starts its engine. Not this one. One thing to know, and I mean it kindly: viewings and collections are strictly by pre-arranged appointment. No walk-ins. And here's why. This is a one-man operation. I'm the one inspecting the stock, driving the van, answering the phone, all of it. Turn up unannounced and there's a fair chance I'm forty miles away delivering someone else's sideboard. Book ahead, and I'm here, waiting, ready for you.
