Barker and Stonehouse know their way around oak furniture, and this sideboard is proof. Nothing fussy. One wide drawer up top, double-door cabinet below with a fixed shelf inside giving you two good compartments. Black metal drop handles on the drawer, simple round knobs on the doors. Sturdy square legs, subtly framed door panels. The whole thing has that rustic, handcrafted character that comes from proper construction, not styling.
The finish is a warm medium oak tone that lets the natural grain do the talking. Timeless, inviting, the kind of piece that sits easy in a room without shouting about it.
Those dovetail joints in the drawer are worth noting. That is quality joinery. Drawers stay square, slides stay smooth, and the thing lasts. Cheaper units skip that step entirely and you feel the difference every time you open a drawer. This one was built right.
