Drop the price of a proper single bed to less than a third of what it cost new and you expect a catch. Some wobbly corner joint, maybe, or chipboard dolled up to look like the real thing. Not here. This Oak FurnitureLand frame is solid oak right through, built the same way their full-price stock is built, with dovetail jointed corners that lock tight without relying on glue or screws. The catch is that it has been slept on. That is the entire discount.
Solid oak headboard, solid oak footboard, solid oak rails holding oak slats that do the actual work of keeping a mattress level and supported for years. The grain runs warm and visible under that medium finish, and the recessed panels on the head and foot give the frame just enough detail to look considered without tipping into fussy. Gently rounded top rails, sturdy rectangular legs, clean lines from end to end. It is the kind of frame that sits quiet in a room and gets on with the job.
Oak FurnitureLand sell this quality because they know oak does not sag, split or need replacing every few years. Dovetail joints lock drawer fronts and corner posts together without relying on glue or screws doing all the holding. That mechanical grip is why drawers in old furniture still slide true and why bed frames like this one stay square long after flat-pack alternatives have been binned. Every part of this bed is made from one hundred percent hardwood. No veneer over particleboard, no shortcuts where you will not see them. Just oak doing what oak does.
This one sold new for £580. My pre-owned price is £185. That is £395 in your favour and a frame that will outlast three cheaper replacements without breaking stride. You are saving 68% of the original retail price.
The condition is pre-owned with a bit of character, minor signs of wear, still in great nick. It has been used, so you might spot a small scuff or surface mark here and there. Nothing structural, nothing that stops it working perfectly.
