Most weeks I walk past pieces that look the part but fall apart when you pull a drawer or open a door. Then something like this surfaces and the choice is clear. A larder this size, built this well, and priced to move. I'm Simon, and I've been doing this long enough to know that storage of this calibre, from this end of the market, does not turn up every week. It made the cut, and now it is here.
This is a large kitchen pantry cupboard: two-door upper cabinet with three internal shelves and two small pull-out drawers at the base of that section, two wide drawers in the middle, and a lower cupboard with two doors and an adjustable shelf inside. The doors have multiple wooden rack-style holders on the inside, which means jars, bottles and tins stay visible and within reach rather than migrating to the back and vanishing for months. The whole piece is part solid oak, part veneered, with a light painted finish on the body and natural medium oak tops and internal elements. The contrast works, and the proportions give it presence without it dominating the room.
The joinery is traditional dovetail, which is how you build drawers that stay square and true under load. The drawers run on telescopic runners, so they open smoothly even when filled with crockery or tins, and the internal shelves are adjustable, which means the storage can be arranged to suit what you actually own rather than what the designer guessed you might. The hardware is round metal knobs on the cupboard doors and cup handles on the drawers. Solid squared legs, subtle panel detailing on the doors, and a 40mm-thick oak top. These details add up fast when you are paying full price.
Speaking of which. This larder sold new for £1,250. My second hand price is £495. That is 60% off a piece that will last longer than every flat-pack unit you have ever owned. That is £755 in your favour.
The condition is second hand with a bit of character, minor signs of wear, still in great nick. The imperfections have been noted, and they do not touch the structure or the storage capacity. This is a working larder that has done its job and is ready to do it again.

You can create a free account in under 60 seconds. After adding the larder to your basket, you proceed to checkout. At checkout you choose between free click-and-collect or local delivery. If you choose local delivery within the North East, you enter your address and get an instant quote, and local delivery is done by me personally, which means the piece arrives with someone who knows what it is and why it matters. Then you pay a £30 deposit online, which secures the item, and pay the remaining balance on collection or delivery, whichever you chose. (Not based in the North East? No bother. Drop me a message before you buy and I'll get a quote from my trusted delivery partner – wherever you are, I'll get you sorted in style.)
Every piece here is one of a kind, so if you have arrived and this one has already been snapped up, or it is simply not quite right, Sorcit is the answer. Click the Sorcit link at the top of any page, tell me what you are looking for, and I go out and source it for you. The moment a match is found, you'll get an email. Completely free, no obligation to buy.
This is the only one. £30 secures it. Once it is gone, it is gone. At this price, it is unlikely to hang around.
