The curved wooden supports do the work here. They arc upwards from the base and wrap around the seat, solid and visible, and that structural detail tells you everything you need to know about how seriously Ekornes built this. I'm Simon, and I find one or two Stressless recliners most months, but the Pegasus range does not turn up often, and when it does, the price usually reflects the pedigree. Not this time. This one landed at £145, and that is the sort of gap that makes the listing itself.
Ekornes Stressless chairs are engineering disguised as furniture. The Pegasus was one of the top ranges when this was made, designed for people who understood the difference between sitting down and actually resting. The reclining mechanism works exactly as it should. Lean back and the chair meets you, smooth and deliberate, with the footstool matching the angle. The circular wooden base swivels, so you shift position without effort. The medium size fits most frames without swallowing them or cramping them. This is not one-size-fits-all furniture pretending otherwise. It is a size that works, built to a standard that lasts.
The leather is cream, warm and neutral, and it has softened with use in the way only genuine leather does. The wooden bases are medium brown, and the grain shows through the finish. No veneer, no shortcuts. The armrests are padded properly, and the headrest, when it was adjustable, gave this chair one more layer of personalisation. That brings us to the condition.
The condition is pre-loved and in great condition, with a few honest imperfections. The headrest is stuck in position, so it no longer adjusts up and down. That does not affect the recline, the swivel, or the comfort, but it does mean you cannot shift the headrest height, and I want you to know that before you buy. There are also a few light marks to the leather. The chair itself still operates exactly as it should, and these are relatively insignificant issues overall. My pre-loved price is £145, because honesty is the only way this works.

A Pegasus Stressless and footstool for £145. The headrest does not move, and the leather shows its history lightly, but the engineering is intact and the comfort is extraordinary. Only one of this exists. £30 secures it. After that, it belongs to someone else.
