Let’s get one thing straight — this isn’t some flimsy, flat-pack relic that’ll wobble every time you yank a drawer open. No, this is the real deal: a Lyon double chest of drawers by Fortune Wood, built like a proper piece of furniture should be. Seven drawers — three up top, four below — mean you’ve got more than enough room to stash everything from jumpers to jeans without playing Tetris every laundry day. And with that medium natural oak finish, it doesn’t scream for attention; it just quietly elevates your bedroom, whether you’re going full country cottage or clean-lined contemporary.
Made from solid oak wood — not veneer, not particle board, *solid* — this chest means business. The kind of business that involves dovetail joints holding drawers together like they’ve sworn an oath, and tongue and groove panelling running through the back and base like structural poetry. Add in those slightly rustic metal drop handles, the framed drawer fronts, and curved feet that give it just enough personality without tipping into show-off territory, and you’ve got a look that’s both timeless and tough. It’s lacquered too, which means maintenance is dead simple — just a quick dust and polish, and you’re done. No re-waxing, no fuss.
Condition: second-hand with a bit of character — minor signs of wear, still in great nick. Translation? This piece has already earned its stripes. Furniture that’s lived a little. And we’re not hiding anything — there are no listed imperfections, so what you see is what you get: a sturdy, well-made chest that’s ready for its next chapter. Whether that’s in your master bedroom, guest room, or even a cleverly repurposed space in the hallway, it’s up to the task.
At £255, our second-hand price is a fraction of the original £1,039 RRP — yes, really. That’s not just smart shopping, that’s *proper* savvy. And if you’re wondering about the rest of the range, we’ve got matching pieces available separately: a pair of bedside cabinets, and a king-size bed frame, should you fancy turning this into a full-blown bedroom upgrade.
