The Kemble range from Oak Furnitureland was built around that thinking. Practical storage shaped with a lighter touch. Solid oak sits across the top, grain visible, paired with a pale grey painted body that reads cream in some lights, putty in others. The drop handles are metal, vintage-inspired, and built to last. Recessed panel sides add weight to the design without bulk. And here is the construction doing its work. Traditional dovetail joints hold each drawer square. Tongue and groove panelling lines the back of the unit and the base of every drawer. Details like those separate furniture that lasts from furniture that sags after two house moves.
The Kemble range was Oak Furnitureland's softer answer to their Original Rustic line. Country-inspired, but cleaner. It has since been retired from the current collection, which means pieces like this now turn up only on the second-hand market. That scarcity is real. My second-hand price is £175 for a chest built for years of proper use.
The condition is second-hand and in great condition, with a few honest imperfections. There is a very slight mark to the front of the top left-hand drawer. It is nothing significant and is only a minor imperfection, but for complete transparency, it is worth noting.
