Light oak solid, four square legs, chamfered edges all the way round. That chamfer tells you somebody cared. It breaks the hard ninety-degree angle, softens the whole thing, and it runs the full perimeter without a wobble. Proper furniture versus flat-pack approximations comes down to precision like this. This table is Oak Furniture Land, built from solid oak throughout, and it landed here because I'm Simon and I spend half my working week passing on pieces that look fine but feel lightweight. This one stopped that habit dead. Solid through and through, dovetail jointed where it counts, and finished in a medium oak tone that sits somewhere between honey and biscuit. The design does not mess about. No apron frills, no turned legs doing baroque gymnastics, just a flat rectangular top on four sturdy legs that plant themselves and stay put. The grain runs clean across the surface, the finish catches the light without glare.
The joinery uses traditional dovetails, which means the frame stays square under load and stays that way for decades. The legs are straight and chunky, no taper, no nonsense. The tabletop has been polished to a smooth working surface that shows off the natural texture of the wood, and the chamfered edge runs all four sides with perfect consistency. You run your hand along it and the transition is clean. No sharp corners, no compromise.
This table was designed as an extending piece originally, but the extension leaves are no longer with it, so it is sold as a fixed-size dining table as it stands now. What you see is what you get, and what you get is 131 cm by 92 cm of solid oak that seats four comfortably or squeezes in six if everyone likes each other. The condition is second-hand and in great condition, with a few honest imperfections. For complete transparency, there are three or four very light marks to the tabletop. These are quite minor and not particularly noticeable, but I make potential customers aware of any imperfections I notice. They do not affect function, they do not catch the eye from normal viewing distance, and they are the kind of surface wear you would expect from a piece that has done the job it was built for.
