Most bedsides you see for under two hundred quid are particleboard held together with optimism and a single dowel. Tongue and groove backs and bases mean no flex, no rattle, no cheap hardboard panel that bows after six months. The frame sits on those angled supports, slightly recessed, which keeps the profile light without compromising stability. Open a drawer and you feel the difference immediately. Precision, no wobble. That is joinery, not assembly.
