This sideboard doesn’t whisper — it tells stories. Rich, warm, and deeply tactile, it’s carved from reclaimed Mexican pine and built with the kind of care that only proper furniture makers like Barker & Stonehouse deliver. You can feel the history in every grain, see it in the honey-toned patina, and hear it in the quiet solidity of those dovetail joints — yes, dovetail, not glue-and-hope. This is furniture that’s lived a little, and loved every minute of it.
Height: 80 cm (31.5 in) x Width: 167 cm (65.7 in) x Depth: 53 cm (20.9 in). It’s generous without being greedy — three vertical drawers nestling between two capacious cupboards, each with an internal shelf you’ll actually use (no awkward gaps or wobbly bits here). The wrought iron handles are weighty and purposeful; the hinges are decorative and functional; the block feet? Sturdy, grounded, and quietly brilliant. Even the tongue-and-groove panelling on the back and drawer bases — a detail most skip — is present and accounted for. Because when you’re working with reclaimed wood, you don’t cut corners. You honour the material.
Condition: second-hand and in great condition, with a few honest imperfections. It does have a few imperfections, but given that this is reclaimed, it actually just looks like part of the design. Which is true — those marks aren’t flaws, they’re signatures. The kind you’d proudly point out to guests while pouring wine.
Our second-hand price is £145 — less than half what you’d pay new for something even half this considered. And let’s be clear: this isn’t ‘cheap’. It’s intelligent. It’s sustainable. It’s Barker & Stonehouse quality, without the showroom markup.
