The rounded edges are what made this one stand out. Most bookcases give you sharp corners and straight drops, but this one curves at the sides, which softens the whole frame and makes the piece feel deliberate rather than just assembled. It is a small detail, but small details are how you tell a maker was thinking about the object in a room, not just the object in the warehouse. I'm Simon, and when something with this much thought behind the design turns up at this price, I knew it belonged here.
six shelves, all open, all evenly spaced. No doors to slow you down, no fuss. Just clean vertical storage for books, ornaments, storage baskets, whatever needs a home. The frame is painted soft grey, and the back panel is natural oak veneer in a warm medium brown, so you get the grain showing through even when the shelves are stacked. That combination of painted frame and veneered back gives you two-tone interest without pattern or clutter. It works in a minimalist room because the lines are clean. It works in a traditional one because the oak veneer gives you warmth and texture. And it works in a hallway, a dining room, a home office or a bedroom, because six shelves solve a lot of problems.
Part solid oak, part veneered, built with traditional dovetail joints where the structure takes the load. Dovetail joinery means the shelves stay square and the frame stays true. It is the kind of construction you see in furniture that lasts, not furniture designed to be replaced in three years.
The condition is second-hand and in great condition, with a few honest imperfections including some light marks to a number of the shelves, consistent with general use. The marks are there, they are visible, and they do not affect the function or the structure. The piece stands straight, the shelves hold, and the overall look is clean.

My second-hand price is £95. Furniture of this build quality, with dovetail joints and a two-tone finish that actually works, costs several times this when bought new from retailers of this standard. That is £95 for a bookcase that will still be standing square in ten years, not £95 for flat-pack that sags after two.

You found it. £30 secures it. Only one exists, and once it is gone, it is gone. At this price, I do not expect it to hang around.
