Most pairs of bedside drawers sit there looking adequate. Then you find a pair that sits there looking brilliant, and the difference is usually in the legs. These stand on proper tapered legs, raised clear of the floor in that mid-century way where the furniture seems to float rather than squat. It gives the whole piece a lightness you notice every morning. Oak FurnitureLand got that detail exactly right, and the rest of the Parquet range follows through.
Each unit gives you one deep drawer, built from solid oak right through, with dovetail joints holding the corners square and tongue and groove panelling to the back and the drawer base. Those construction moves are what separate furniture that lasts from furniture that sags. The drawer fronts carry an angled wood pattern, cut and fitted piece by piece, so the grain runs in opposing directions and catches the light differently depending on where you stand. It is decorative without being fussy, and it does not date.
The finish is a medium oak tone, brushed and glazed, so the grain stays visible and the colour stays warm. The drawer knobs are dark metal, square-edged, and they sit in deliberate contrast to all that oak. Small hardware choices like that are what give a piece its character.
This is solid oak construction done properly. Compact enough for tight spaces, strong enough to take the daily punishment of keys, glasses, phones, books and whatever else lands there at the end of the day. Mid-century modern style still works because the proportions were right the first time, and these have kept them.
The pair sold new for £519.98. My PreLoved price is £225. That is a saving of £294.98, 57% off two pieces of furniture built to last beside the bed they serve. The condition is PreLoved and in great condition, with a few honest imperfections. There are a few odd marks here and there, just in keeping with general use, but nothing major. The wear is truthful and the structure is sound.
