The oak is solid, not veneered, so you're looking at real grain with real depth. Medium tone, no stain, just the wood doing its work. The herringbone fronts catch the light differently depending on where you stand. Details like that don't happen on flat-pack.
The construction tells the rest of the story. Dovetail joints hold the drawers square under daily use. Tongue and groove panelling backs each drawer and the piece itself, the kind of detail that separates furniture built to last from furniture built to shift. Small dark square knobs punctuate each drawer, understated against the oak, but they do the job without fuss.

These are fairly minor and could be easily repaired or touched up should you wish to. The drawers open, close, and hold their contents. That's the job, and it's done.
