Those metal drop handles with the rectangular backplates. Clean lines, medium oak tone, and a grip that sits properly in your hand. Traditional joinery too, the kind built to take years of daily use without complaint. It is five drawers in total: two smaller ones side by side at the top, three full-width ones stacked below. The sort of layout that makes organising clothes an actual pleasure rather than a compromise. I'm Simon, and when a chest of drawers like this turns up with honest construction and generous storage at this price, it earns its place on the site.
Part solid oak, part veneered oak. The corners are solid, the fronts are veneered, and the whole piece is held together with traditional dovetail joints. Dovetail joinery is the mark of proper drawer construction: the drawers stay square, they stay tight, and they keep working long after flat-pack equivalents have given up. This is the difference between furniture that lasts a decade and furniture that lasts a lifetime.
The finish is a medium oak tone that lets the natural grain show through. Warm, timeless, and versatile enough to sit comfortably in anything from a country bedroom to a more transitional setting. The metal handles add a subtle vintage-inspired touch without tipping into full period piece territory. Understated, functional, and built with care.
The condition is second-hand and in great condition, with a few honest imperfections. The sides have discoloured very slightly, possibly due to sun bleaching. A few of the drawers can also occasionally catch when opening or closing, although they still close fully and remain functional. Nothing that affects the strength or the storage, just the proof that this piece has already earned its stripes.
