I'm Simon, and I spend most of my time sifting through furniture that either gets the nod or goes back where it came from. Then a TV unit like this surfaces from the Canterbury range at Oak FurnitureLand, and it made the cut. Raised panel doors, tongue and groove back panelling, moulded cornice edges, and bracket feet that lift the whole thing off the floor with a bit of grace. Solid oak right through with proper joinery holding it square. This one had earned its place before I'd even opened the doors.
The layout does its work quietly. Two cupboards flank a central open section fitted with a fixed shelf, giving you the exact mix of hidden storage and accessible space that a living room actually needs. Drop your media boxes behind the doors, stack what you use daily in the middle, sit the screen on top. The brass cup handles are the kind of detail you notice every time you reach for them, and the natural oak finish lets the grain come through warm and honest.
Oak FurnitureLand built the Canterbury in solid oak throughout, which means this piece can be lived with hard and still come back from it. The joinery locks the structure tight. The tongue and groove panelling at the back is the standard you find in furniture made to last decades, not seasons. And those flared cornices and the deep plinth base are not there for decoration. They are proportions borrowed from traditional cabinetmaking, the kind that stop a piece looking boxy or mean.
Cable management is sorted with exit holes at the back, so your wires run clean and your room stays tidy. The top is broad and sturdy enough to hold even an oversized screen without a wobble. The whole thing sits at a height that works whether you are on the sofa or an armchair, and the medium oak tone plays well with most floors and walls without fighting for attention.
The condition is PreLoved and looking fabulous, genuinely great condition. Not a scratch that matters, not a mark that tells a story you would rather forget. Just a TV stand that has been used and proved itself.
