You know that feeling when you walk into a room and think, “Ah — that’s proper furniture”? That’s this king-size bed frame. From the Huxley range by Barker & Stonehouse — a brand that doesn’t do things by halves — it’s built like it’s meant to last, not just fill space. Part solid oak, part veneered, with traditional dovetail joints you can actually see (and yes, they matter), this isn’t flat-pack pretending to be quality. It’s the real deal, just second-hand — and all the better for it.
The design? Clean, calm, and quietly confident. No fuss, no clutter. Just vertical slats in a warm medium oak tone, square legs that look like they’ve got opinions, and a slatted base that means your mattress floats just right. It’s modern without trying too hard, and timeless without playing it safe. The kind of bed that makes getting a good night’s sleep feel like a design feature.
Condition? Pre-owned with a bit of character — minor signs of wear, still in great nick. Which is just a posh way of saying it’s lived a little, loved a lot, and still looks like it’s got decades left in it. Furniture that’s earned its stripes doesn’t need to be perfect — just honest. And this one’s telling the truth.
Height: 104.5 cm (41.1 in) x Width: 158 cm (62.2 in) x Depth: 217 cm (85.4 in) — so it’s a proper king-size, not one of those that just sounds big. Plenty of room to stretch, dream, or hog the duvet, depending on your style.
Our second-hand price is £295 — a fraction of what it would’ve cost new, and frankly, a steal for a Barker & Stonehouse piece. This is the kind of brand that builds beds to outlive trends, and now you get to skip the showroom queue and the premium price tag. You don’t need to sleep on it. A £30 deposit secures it — the rest is paid when you collect or have it delivered.
After you add it to your basket, you’ll checkout in under a minute. Choose free click-and-collect from our Houghton-le-Spring base, or opt for local delivery — pop in your address and get an instant quote. Pay your £30 deposit online to lock it in, then the balance when it’s time to bring it home. (Not based in the North East? No bother. There’s savvy — and then there’s already-clicked ‘Add to Basket’ savvy. Only one of this bed frame’s available, and once it’s gone, it’s gone. This is the moment: low effort, high return, and very limited stock.
You found it. Now claim it. Before someone with equally good taste gets there first.
