You know that feeling when you walk into a room and there’s just one piece that makes everything else fall into place? This double wardrobe is that piece. Solid, soulful, and built like it actually matters — because it does. Crafted by Barker & Stonehouse as part of their Charlie range, this isn’t some flat-pack pretender. It’s the real deal: made from reclaimed wood with all the quirks, character, and quiet confidence that comes with it.
Think warm, natural tones, rich grain patterns, and a surface that tells a story — not one printed in a catalogue, but one shaped by time, texture, and honest use. The tongue and groove panelling on the back and base of each drawer? That’s not for show. Neither are the traditional dovetail joints — a hallmark of proper craftsmanship that most modern furniture has forgotten even exists.
It opens wide — two generous doors revealing a roomy hanging space with a sturdy rail, plus two wide drawers below for folded favourites or weekend layers. Simple dark metal handles keep the look grounded, while short square legs lift it just enough off the floor to feel intentional, not imposing.
And yes — it’s second-hand. But let’s be clear: this isn’t worn out, it’s lived in. The condition? Pre-loved and in great condition, with a few honest imperfections. One hinge is missing its centre pin — an easy fix under £10 — though honestly, it still works perfectly fine as it is. Nothing wobbles. Nothing sticks. Just solid function with soul.
Height: 205 cm (80.7 in) x Width: 102 cm (40.2 in) x Depth: 62.5 cm (24.6 in) — substantial without swallowing your room. And good news: it comes in two parts, so getting it home won’t mean exorcising your front door or summoning a crane.
Our second-hand price? £245. Compared to the original RRP of £1,249, that’s not just smart — it’s saving 80% off its original RRP. But no tricks here. Just furniture that’s lived a little, loved a lot, and ready for its next chapter.
