One wide drawer, two panelled doors, and every part of this wardrobe comes apart when you need it to. That dismantling feature is what makes the difference. The upper section lifts away from the drawer base. The top section then breaks down completely. Doors, sides, shelves, the lot. Which means a wardrobe this size can move through a hallway that would normally rule it out. I'm Simon, and I've sourced a lot of double wardrobes over the years, but not many combine this kind of presence with the practicality of a full strip-down when moving day arrives. This one does both, and it's from Barker and Stonehouse, so the build quality is there from the start.
Solid oak throughout. Traditional dovetail joints on the drawer. Tongue and groove panelling to the back and the drawer base, which is the standard you want to see: cheap units put hardboard there and you feel the difference the moment you open it. The finish is a warm medium oak tone, grain clearly visible, with simple round knobs on the doors and metal handles on the drawer. The detailing is understated: subtle moulding around the edges, raised panels on the doors. Lovely French farmhouse rustic styling. Nothing showy, just honest construction and a look that works in plenty of settings.
Inside the two panelled doors you've got a spacious hanging rail. Below, one wide drawer for folded storage. The configuration is straightforward: jackets, shirts, trousers on the rail, knitwear and accessories tucked away in the drawer. For a bedroom that needs order without the sprawl of a fitted wardrobe, this is the answer. And because it dismantles, you're not locked into one room for the life of the piece. It can move with you, house to house, room to room, without the usual struggle.
The condition is pre-owned and looking fabulous, in genuinely great condition.

My pre-owned price is £295. Solid oak, proper joinery, and the kind of build that holds its own against whatever flat-pack alternative costs half as much and lasts half as long. You're looking at furniture that has been used and has plenty of use left in it, at a fraction of what this quality costs new from a retailer of this standard.
