You know that feeling when you walk into a room and there’s one piece of furniture that just owns the space? This is it. A double wardrobe that doesn’t whisper luxury — it quietly, confidently declares it. From the Navajos range by Barker & Stonehouse, no less — a brand that doesn’t do things by halves. Solid. Thoughtful. Properly made.
And yes — it’s second hand. But so is your favourite leather jacket, your go-to casserole dish, and that vintage record that still sounds better than any digital version. Some things just get better with time. This wardrobe? It’s lived a little, loved a lot, and still has decades of good service in it.
Made entirely from reclaimed wood, every inch of this piece hums with character. The grain tells a story — knots, variations, that gentle unevenness that only real wood can offer. No laminates, no shortcuts. Just honest, weighty craftsmanship. Traditional dovetail joints hold the drawers together — a sign of proper furniture-making, not flat-pack promises. Tongue and groove panelling runs along the back and base, because even the bits you can’t see were built to last.
It splits into two sections — clever, that — so you won’t be wrestling it through tight hallways or up narrow staircases. Practicality, built in. The upper section has two wide hinged doors revealing a spacious hanging rail — ideal for coats, dresses, or that wardrobe of yours that just keeps growing. Below, four generous drawers (two by two, all equally sized) offer deep storage for everything from jumpers to jeans. Curved drawer fronts soften the silhouette, while sleek metal handles and little round wooden knobs add just the right amount of charm.
The finish? A warm, medium brown that lets the natural grain sing. It’s rustic, sure — but not rough. Think ‘lived-in luxury’ rather than ‘country cottage chic’. It’ll sit just as happily in a modern bedroom as it would in a cosier, traditional space. And those short, square legs? They’re not just for show — they lift the piece just enough to give it presence without sacrificing stability.
Condition? Pre-owned and looking fabulous — in genuinely great condition. There are no imperfections to note. This piece has already earned its stripes — a quiet veteran of everyday life, ready for its next chapter.
Our second hand price? £275. Let that sink in. The original RRP? £1,249. That’s not just a saving — it’s a statement. You’re not compromising on quality, design, or brand. You’re simply being smarter about how you get it. That’s a saving of 78 % off its original RRP of £1,249.
