This double chest of drawers isn’t just furniture — it’s a quiet statement of calm confidence. Solid oak, clean lines, and that unmistakable Barker & Stonehouse weightiness: this piece doesn’t shout, but when it speaks, people listen. It’s the kind of chest you spot in a magazine spread and think, *Yes — that’s the one*. Only here, it’s not behind glass or priced like a family heirloom. It’s ready to live with you — and love you back.
Height: 85 cm (33.5 in) x Width: 130 cm (51.2 in) x Depth: 47 cm (18.5 in). Substantial without being imposing; generous in storage (seven drawers — three small on top, four deep and practical below), yet grounded and graceful. The medium oak finish glows with warmth, the grain rich and visible, the surface smooth and even. Those metal drop handles on rectangular backplates? Pure traditional charm. And those gently rounded edges and tapered legs? That’s craftsmanship whispering, I was built to last.
Our pre-owned price is £225 — less than half what you’d pay new for something even remotely comparable from Barker & Stonehouse. The condition? Pre-owned and looking fabulous — in genuinely great condition. This piece has already earned its stripes. It’s furniture that’s lived a little — and done so with poise.
Imperfections? None listed. Which means what you see is what you get: solid oak integrity, dovetail joints that’ll outlive us all, tongue-and-groove panelling at the back and base of every drawer (a detail most brands skip), and that reassuring heft only real timber delivers.
Buying couldn’t be simpler. Create a free account in under 60 seconds — no fuss, no forms, no ‘why did I sign up for this?’ moments. Add it to your basket, head to checkout, and choose between free click-and-collect from our Houghton-le-Spring hub or local delivery across the North East. If you pick delivery, enter your postcode and get an instant quote — then secure the chest with a £30 deposit online. Pay the rest when you collect or when it arrives at your door. (Not based in the North East? No bother. Drop us a message before you buy and we’ll get a quote from our trusted delivery partner – wherever you are, we’ll get you sorted in style.)
You don’t need to sleep on it. A £30 deposit secures it — the rest is paid when you collect or have it delivered. There’s only one of this chest available. Once it’s gone, it’s gone — and someone else will be tucking away their linen, socks, and secrets in that beautiful oak frame instead of you.
