The frame is solid oak, so this chest can be sanded and refinished decades from now if you ever want a different tone. The drawers are built with dovetail joints, which means they'll stay square and true through years of daily use, and the backs and drawer bases are tongue and groove panelling, not hardboard. Those details sit in the parts you don't see, doing their work quietly. The fronts are subtly moulded, just enough to catch the light without turning fussy.
