I'm Simon, and the reason I keep finding Oak FurnitureLand pieces is that they're built to last, and when one turns up at a price this good, it earns its place. This Edinburgh chest of drawers landed with me in exactly the condition that makes you wonder why anyone let it go. Five drawers, solid oak throughout, and a medium oak finish that brings out the grain rather than hiding it. Traditional in the best sense: clean lines, shaped base that lifts the whole piece off the floor, and antique-style metal drop handles that feel right in the hand when you pull a drawer open.
The frame is solid oak, so this chest can be sanded and refinished decades from now if you ever want a different tone. The drawers are built with dovetail joints, which means they'll stay square and true through years of daily use, and the backs and drawer bases are tongue and groove panelling, not hardboard. Those details sit in the parts you don't see, doing their work quietly. The fronts are subtly moulded, just enough to catch the light without turning fussy.
Two smaller drawers at the top, three larger ones below. The layout gives you flexibility: smaller items sorted at eye level, bulkier things tucked away lower down. The handles are metal, drop-style, with an antique finish that suits the oak without overpowering it. No wobble, no sticking. Open one and you feel the quality of proper construction.
The condition is second-hand and looking fabulous, in genuinely great condition.
